The Fazl Mosque, Washington, D.C., also called the American Fazl Mosque to distinguish from the Fazl Mosque, London, is the first mosque in Washington, D.C. opening seven years prior to the Islamic Center of Washington.〔Michael C. By the 1940s, however, the presence and influence of Ahmadi ..".〕 The mosque was established by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in 1950. The mosque also served as the headquarters of the Ahmadiyya movement in the United States until 1994, before being moved to Baitur Rehman Mosque in Silver Spring, Maryland. The American Fazl Mosque was built as a private residence in 1912.
